Meet Melvin

Breed: Labrador Springer

Age: 4

Favourite food: Beef LDT raw food

Favourite treat: Cow skins

Favourite toy: His teddy bears

Loved: Hiking mountains and going on adventures

Dislikes: Cats!

Special talents: Pretending he hasn’t been fed

Melvin arrived from Rochdale Dog Rescue with a sweet nature and a lot still to learn, but with time, patience and the right support from well-respected local dog trainer Lancashire Dog Training, he’s grown into the soft, confident, adventure‑loving boy his family always hoped for.

These days, Melvin hikes mountains off lead, swims in lakes and finishes his days curled up with his teddy bears. His family say he’s like one of their children, and it’s obvious he’s loved to bits.

Kelly from Lancashire Dog Treats has been a huge part of that journey too. She’s helped Melvin’s family understand what truly works for him - especially around food - and they say she’s always there with advice, always willing to go that extra mile, and that they “wouldn’t shop anywhere else.” Melvin certainly agrees, especially when his favourite LDT raw food is involved.

Find out more about Lancashire Dog Training - they support dogs of every age, from tiny pups finding their feet to golden oldies.
