Dog of the Month August
Some dogs leave a mark on your heart the moment you meet them and Lucy is one of those dogs. At 16 years old, she’s been part of Lancashire Dog Treats for so long, visiting every week with Hound and Heel Dog Walking. With her gentle ways, cheeky habits and a lifetime of stories, Lucy has become a big part of the family at LDT and part of the reason we love what we do.

Favourite outings: Coffee dates followed by a trip to LDT and full princess treatment

Lucy didn’t have the easiest start in life. She was rescued from a shed as a tiny puppy, and from that moment she and her mum have been inseparable. Their bond has carried them through everything, including the day Lucy ate a pair of tights and needed a little 'help' getting them back out again… which ended with them pinging straight into her mum’s face. It’s one of many stories that prove Lucy has always had a mischievous streak.
Over the years she’s eaten walls, tights and anything else she could get her paws on. But these days, life is all about comfort, routine and the things she loves most like slow coffee dates, gentle fuss and her weekly trip to LDT.
Katey from Hound and Heel Dog Walking said: “Lucy was the first dog to book in with me and she’s been with me ever since. She’s grown older, softer and a little slower, but she’s still the same Lucy who steals hearts, steals treats and somehow steals the spotlight whoever she goes.
“Even with doggy dementia, Lucy still knows exactly where she is the moment the car pulls up at LDT as part of my Monday routine. She heads straight inside and helps herself to her favourite treat off the shelves, a tradition she’s proudly kept up every Monday.
“Kelly is basically free therapy for me at this point and she’s absolutely amazing. I trust her more than the vets nowadays. From teaching me about dog nutrition to behaviours and simply supplying the best treats and advice. I’ve also done some training with Steve at Lancashire Dog Training and I couldn’t recommend them both enough - you can genuinely tell how much love for dogs they have. We need more people like Kelly and Steve!"
